The Faculty of Psychology is one of seven faculties of the oldest university in Switzerland. With our core focus on Society & Choice and Health & Interventions, we are successful both nationally and internationally in our research and study programs.
Dr. Loreen Tisdall (Center for Cognitive and Decision Sciences, www.cds.unibas.ch) at the Faculty of Psychology is seeking one highly motivated Student Research Assistant to support an original research project examining age differences in how individuals assess public spaces in terms of safety and crime risk, as well as the role of specific environmental cues (e.g., visibility, lighting, decay and disorder) in shaping these judgments. This is a EUCOR-funded project that combines online studies and laboratory experiments, and employs a variety of methods, including naturalistic images of public places, AI-driven language analysis, and cognitive modeling.
