The Department of Biomedicine is a joint effort between the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel. It unites basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease and to develop pioneering therapies benefiting the lives of patients in areas of unmet need. With more than 70 research groups and 850 employees, the Department of Biomedicine is the largest department at the University. We are located in the heart of Basel across 6 different locations. Be part of our future!
The Microscopy Core Facility of the Department of Biomedicine at the University of Basel is a state-of-the-art scientific platform offering DBM researchers instrumentation and technical and scientific expertise. As the only Nikon Center of Excellence in Switzerland, we foster a close collaboration with Nikon.
The facility is based in two sites and is providing more than 30 instruments ranging from confocal, widefield, high-content screening, two-photon, super-resolution, stereo as well as laser micro dissection microscopes.
With a young and dynamic team of five people we contribute to many translational and basic research projects, enabling the successful application of diverse microscopy techniques and image analysis projects.
The working place of the successful candidate is the Department of Biomedicine at Mattenstrasse 28, 4058 Basel and could be extended to Hebelstrasse 20, 4031 Basel in the future.
