IT Career Starter / Internship (Level 1 Helpdesk)

The Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB) is seeking for an
enthusiastic IT Career Starter or Intern to join our dynamic IT support team in Basel.

This fixed term opportunity is perfect for recent graduates, career starters, or interns eager
to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. This position is suitable for
internship candidates seeking practical work experience.

IOB is a research institute combining basic and clinical research. Its mission is to drive
innovations in understanding vision and its diseases and develop new therapies for vision

Your position

  • Provide first-level IT support to users, handling daily inquiries, troubleshooting, and resolving basic technical issues.
  • Document and escalate technical issues appropriately.
  • Support maintenance of IT equipment and user accounts.
  • Assist in monitoring IT systems and perform routine checks.
  • Work collaboratively within an international team environment.

Your profile

  • Recent graduate, student (internship), or individuals looking to start their career in IT.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) required. Additional German skills advantageous but not required, any further languages also considered a plus.
  • Basic understanding or strong interest in IT hardware, software, and troubleshooting.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
  • EU/Swiss citizenship or valid work authorization required.
